Monitoring basics

Understanding WebCheck statuses

Learn what Passed, Degraded, Failed, Blocked, Running and Unavailable mean in WebCheck.

A WebCheck status describes the result of a particular check, not a guarantee about every part of a website. Read the status together with the error code, timing and evidence shown in the dashboard.

Passed and degraded

Passed means the check completed and met its configured conditions. Degraded means WebCheck received a response but found a slower-than-usual result or a recognised Cloudflare challenge. Degraded counts as available for uptime, but it can still deserve attention.

Failed and blocked

Failed means the check completed but a condition was not met, such as an unexpected HTTP status, missing required phrase or changed DNS record. Blocked means WebCheck could not produce a usable result because a safety rule, network or inspection error stopped the check.

Running and unavailable

Running means a queued check is being processed. Unavailable is used by public status views when there is no current usable result, for example before the first check or when results have gone stale. Disabling a check stops it from running; WebCheck does not create a separate Skipped run.

Read the run details

Open check history or an incident to see the target, check type, response status, timing, redirects, error code and evidence. The status is a starting point; the run details help explain what happened.
