How NOTABIS WebCheck uses information to provide, secure and improve website monitoring.

Last updated: 10 September 2026

Privacy Terms Acceptable use

NOTABIS WebCheck is a website-monitoring service. This notice explains what information WebCheck uses, why it uses it and the choices available to you. It describes WebCheck’s service-level handling; it does not replace any rights or obligations that apply under your local data-protection law.

Who operates the service

WebCheck is provided as part of the NOTABIS service family. Account authentication and account identity are handled through the central NOTABIS Account service. For account or privacy requests, use the NOTABIS account support channel so the request can be associated with the correct account.

Information we use

  • Account information: the Account subject identifier and identity details supplied to WebCheck, such as your name and email address.
  • Monitoring configuration: site names, target labels, public URLs, selected check types, intervals, expected statuses and content assertions that you choose.
  • Monitoring results: statuses, response timing, time to first byte, final URLs, redirect information, bounded response metadata, DNS/TLS evidence, content hashes or assertion outcomes and incident history.
  • Notifications: email delivery details and notification destinations you configure, including webhook URLs and delivery status. Signing secrets and messaging credentials are used to deliver notifications and should be treated as confidential.
  • Security and operational data: session records, rate-limit information, queue and delivery records, request metadata and logs needed to operate, troubleshoot and protect the service.

How monitoring requests work

WebCheck requests the explicit public URLs you configure. It does not intentionally crawl an entire website, submit forms, place orders, test credentials or reproduce an arbitrary authenticated browser session. Requests use bounded time, redirect and response-size limits, and network-safety protections.

Response evidence is collected to explain a result, but WebCheck does not promise to store a permanent copy of every response body. Avoid placing passwords, tokens, payment data or unnecessary personal information in URLs, page content assertions or monitored public endpoints.

Why we use information

  • Authenticate you and associate monitoring data with your WebCheck account.
  • Run the checks and calculate statuses, timing, uptime and incidents.
  • Send the email, webhook or messaging notifications you enable.
  • Prevent abuse, unsafe network access, unauthorised use and excessive traffic.
  • Maintain service reliability, investigate faults and protect the service.
  • Meet legal, security and operational obligations where applicable.

Cookies and sessions

WebCheck uses session and security cookies needed for authentication, CSRF protection and normal site operation. The service also uses privacy-friendly Plausible analytics on public pages to understand aggregate usage. It does not use WebCheck monitoring data to build advertising profiles.

Storage and retention

Account and configuration records are retained while needed to provide the service and manage your account. Monitoring history, incidents and delivery records follow WebCheck's product retention limit and cleanup policies. The default WebCheck monitoring-history retention is 30 days.

Backups, security logs and legal records may remain for longer where necessary for recovery, fraud prevention, dispute handling or compliance. Deleting a site stops its monitoring and removes it from normal WebCheck views; it is not a promise that every backup or legally required record disappears immediately.

Sharing and service providers

We do not sell monitoring data. Information may be processed by infrastructure, database, email, analytics and notification providers needed to operate WebCheck. WebCheck sends notification payloads only to destinations that you configure, and notification providers may process the information required to deliver those messages. Providers may process data in locations outside your country subject to their terms and applicable safeguards.

Your choices and rights

You can stop monitoring, remove targets and manage notification destinations from the authenticated WebCheck dashboard. You can also request access, correction, deletion or other rights available under applicable law through the NOTABIS account support channel. We may need to verify your identity and account authority before completing a request.

Security and incidents

WebCheck uses access controls, owner scoping, secure sessions, CSRF protection, bounded network requests and destination validation. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. If you believe there is a security or privacy problem, report it promptly through the NOTABIS account support channel and do not include passwords, tokens or other secrets in the report.

Children

WebCheck is a business monitoring service and is not directed to children. Do not create an account or submit personal information if you are not permitted to use the service under the laws that apply to you.

Changes

We may update this notice when WebCheck, its providers or applicable requirements change. The date above identifies the current published version. Material changes may also be communicated through the service or account support channel where appropriate.
