Terms of service
The rules and limitations that apply when you use NOTABIS WebCheck.
Last updated: 10 September 2026
By creating or using a NOTABIS WebCheck account, you agree to use the service lawfully and in accordance with these terms. If you do not agree, do not use WebCheck.
What WebCheck provides
WebCheck provides recurring checks against public website and service targets that you configure. Depending on your configuration and WebCheck usage limits, checks can include HTTP, TCP, DNS, TLS, domain-expiry, security-header and content monitoring, together with incident history, public status pages, widgets and notifications.
WebCheck is an information and alerting service. Results are affected by network conditions, target configuration, DNS, TLS, edge security, upstream services and service availability. A passed result is not a guarantee that a website is available to every visitor or that every user journey works.
Eligibility and account access
You must be legally permitted to use the service and provide information that is accurate enough to administer your account. Authentication is provided through the NOTABIS Account service. You are responsible for protecting your Account access and for activity carried out through your account. Tell the account support channel promptly if you believe access has been compromised.
Your monitoring responsibility
- Only monitor websites, hosts, ports and URLs that you own or are authorised to test.
- Use targets and intervals that are reasonable for the service being monitored.
- Ensure your monitoring requests comply with the target owner’s rules, contracts and applicable law.
- Review alerts and evidence before taking operational, financial or safety-critical action.
- Keep credentials, secrets, payment information and unnecessary personal data out of target URLs and content assertions.
- Keep notification destinations under your control and protect any signing secrets or messaging credentials.
The detailed prohibited uses are set out in the Acceptable use policy, which forms part of these terms.
Service limits and changes
WebCheck applies product usage limits to sites, targets, intervals, retained history, notification destinations and features. We may reject or restrict a configuration that exceeds those limits or creates a security, abuse, capacity or legal risk. We may change features, limits, retention or implementation details as the service develops.
WebCheck may pause, disable or remove a target, notification destination or account where reasonably necessary to protect the service, comply with law, respond to misuse or address a security risk. Where practical, we will provide an explanation through the service or account support channel.
Monitoring and notification limitations
WebCheck does not promise uninterrupted monitoring, delivery of every notification, a particular check frequency, a particular response time or permanent retention of every record. Queue delays, provider outages, invalid destinations, rate limiting, target-side blocking and network failures can affect results and alerts.
Do not use a WebCheck result as the sole control for emergency response, safety-critical systems, financial transactions or irreversible actions. Maintain appropriate independent monitoring and operational safeguards for those situations.
Your content and permissions
You retain responsibility for the URLs, labels, assertions, status-page text, branding and notification configuration you submit. You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed for WebCheck to process and display that material as part of the service. Do not submit unlawful, infringing, abusive or confidential material that WebCheck does not need to operate.
Public status pages and widgets
If you publish a status page or embed a widget, you are responsible for choosing appropriate public content and checking that it does not disclose confidential monitoring detail or personal information. Public pages and widgets are visible to their visitors and may be cached or requested by third parties. Revoke or disable them when they are no longer appropriate.
Intellectual property
WebCheck and its software, design, documentation and service marks remain the property of NOTABIS or its licensors. These terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive right to use the service for its intended purpose; they do not transfer ownership or permit you to copy, resell, reverse engineer or misuse the service except where applicable law does not allow that restriction.
Third-party services
WebCheck depends on third-party services such as account authentication, hosting, database, email, analytics and notification providers. Their availability and terms may affect the service. WebCheck is not responsible for the independent operation, content or security practices of a target or third-party destination that you configure.
Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WebCheck is provided on an “as available” and “as is” basis without a promise that it will be error-free, uninterrupted or suitable for every purpose. To the extent permitted by law, NOTABIS is not responsible for losses caused by reliance on an individual monitoring result, missed or delayed notification, target-side behaviour, third-party provider failure, unauthorised account activity or an interruption of the service.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including any mandatory consumer or statutory rights that apply to you.
Termination
You may stop using WebCheck and remove your monitored sites at any time. We may suspend or terminate access where these terms or the Acceptable use policy are breached, where continued use creates a material risk, or where the service is discontinued. Provisions about responsibility, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability and records that by their nature should continue will survive termination.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the service or applicable requirements change. The date above identifies the current version. Continued use after an updated version is published means you accept the updated terms to the extent permitted by law.

For questions about these terms, account access or a suspected breach, use the NOTABIS account support channel. Please do not send passwords, access tokens or other secrets in a support request.
